Dr. Jacquelyn Blakey
Dr. Jacquelyn Blakey began her optometric career as a research fellow in the Department of Ophthalmology at Sinai Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. This led to the position of Vision Therapist in Sinai's Low Vision Clinic. Her close work with pioneers in low vision, Drs. Ernest Gaines, ArnoldGordon and Morris Mintz, influenced her decision to pursue optometry. She returned to Sinai Hospital and completed a three month internship prior to receiving her degree.
Dr. Blakey received her Doctorate of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1995. She practiced as an independent Optometrist prior to opening her practice in May of 2002 in Canton, Michigan. Dr. Blakey's primary focus has been to provide more than a routine eye exam. She aspires to provide a full scope optometric practice that diagnoses and treats eye diseases as well as educates patients on the importance of optimal ocular health.
